Frank McGuire is approached for help in finding a serial killer. Undecided as to how to help, Frank is also approached by the widow of his partner when he was on the force. Her son, Rand, has disappeared and she is desperate to locate him. Emily, the widow of Quinn, his partner, is sure that Rand is in trouble and must be found before he is in too deep. She knows Rand is confused about his identity and is trying to find himself. He dropped out of college and took to the streets where he can get what he wants. Frank does find Rand but realizes something Rand does not. Rand is right in the middle of the murders and for Frank to save him, he must deal with the killers and his own suppressed desire for Rand.

Crossroads is a very intense story. Tough language and situations make the reading difficult at times. Franks had left the force after the death of his mentor and partner. Now with the disappearance of his mentor’s son, Frank must deal with the issues he never resolved. For Rand, he just wants to escape. He too never dealt with his own issues and now the two will need to resolve them together if they are to survive the coming danger. Keta Diablo has penned a story not for the faint at heart.

Violence and death add to the realism while the relationship between Rand and Frank adds the unusual romance, making this noel of two men at a Crossroads strangely compelling. There are all sorts of relationships in this world Keta Diablo shows just one, one that works in Crossroads. Don’t miss this one. You will be out looking for the others when you are done with this gripping tale.
